The Neda institute for Scientific Political Research published the 35th issue of this its quarterly entitled "Palestine Studies Quarterly”. The 51-day-long war as the most important recent event in arena of Palestine and resistance constitutes the main axis of the papers published in the current issue.
Furthermore, this publication has covered the most important news from the summer of 2014 on various Palestinian and Israeli factions as well as important documents related to the developments in this area. Regarding the publication of the recent issue of the Palestine Studies Quarterly, the Neda Institute’s director, Reza Barakati stated: "The Palestine Studies Quarterly is the first and the only specialized journal about Palestine which academically is dealing with various problems in the area of the occupied Palestine and resistance within the framework of academic papers. So far, the institute has published 25 issues of this quarterly and its latest issue was published in the current week”. He introduced the contents and the policies of this publication, saying: "we publish the Palestine Studies Quarterly with a number of 2000 circulations and distribute it among various recipients including the academicians, professors, students, the organizations and the officials of the country. The most important part of the quarterly is devoted to the papers relating to the occupied Palestine. Besides, we have made an attempt to cover the most important news and documents which were the most important events of each season. Introduction of recently published books about Palestine with the purpose of enriching the resistance literature constitutes another part of the Palestine Studies Quarterly”. Barakati added:
" The Neda Institute in particular, the research department of this institute which is tasked with communication with the authors, collecting the papers, submitting them to the referees to evaluate them, etc., have to respect the academic standards as the most important component in the content of the papers. Therefore the atmosphere dominant in the papers of the quarterly is of such qualities as being scientific, not being repetitive, and being innovative. Naturally, such factors as theoretical framework, formal standards, the citations, etc., are among the important aspects in the selected papers”.
Regarding the importance of the Palestine Studies Quarterly, the Neda Institute’s director stated: "The Supreme leaders preface to the Palestine Studies Quarterly and his encouraging the officials of the Neda Institute to continue the publication of this quarterly is an indicative of this quarterly’s important position in both domestic and foreign policy. The Supreme leader’s emphasis on the publication of this quarterly originates from the fact that the issue of Palestine as one of the undoubted principles of the Islamic Republic of Iran requires academic research and studies. In fact, it is through research and studies that one can explain the various aspects of Palestine including its domestic, regional and extra regional dimensions. I reiterate that in order to obtain an accurate knowledge into the issue of Palestine and to make well-calculated policies about its various problems, we should get a comprehensive knowledge into Palestine’s culture, social aspects including the impact of education, welfare facilities, lifestyle on the political behaviors of the political factions and social groups, and political concerns including the inter-factional rifts and coalitions, its economic problems including its regional and international dependences . Indeed, this point determines our goal and direction in the publication of this quarterly”. Barakati pointed out: "In order to improve its quarterly, the Neda Institute has made an attempt to suggest to the authors different and major problems of the region with the centrality of Palestine as the top priority of the papers. As an example, in the 25th issue of this quarterly, the authors investigated the various aspects of the 51-day-long war. In the current issue the priority has been given to "the impact of the phenomenon of ISIS on the issue of Palestine”.
Regarding the problems with the publication of the Palestine Studies Quarterly, Barakati pointed out: "we do our best to publish the quarterly regularly. This quarterly is already in the waiting list for obtaining the ranking of an academic-research journal and this very fact has doubled our motivation for the qualitative and quantitative promotion of the quarterly. The only reason why some issues of the quarterly has been released late is financial problem which we seek to solve. Therefore, it is a pleasure for us to invite the professors, students and researchers interested in the area of Palestine and resistance to submit their materials to the institute to be reviewed and evaluated”.
